Miracles of Mother Teresa become Controversy Ahead of Canonization

The canonization of Mother Teresa into a saint reap controversy. Pope Francis will canonize it on Sunday, September 4, 2016 - Vatican time.

Mother Teresa was born at Macedonia in 1910 and died in Calcutta, India on September 5, 1997. He came to India in 1950 and founded the Missionaries of Charity. For more than 47 years, she served the poor, sick, orphaned and dying.

Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity also developed in other countries. In 1979, she earned the Nobel Peace Prize. After his death, she got a beata degree by Pope John Paul II.

As CNN reported, Pope Francis had to approve the two miracles to determine the canonization of Mother Teresa. One of them is a miracle experienced by Monica Besra.

Monica Besra, a village woman in eastern India, claimed cured of cancer after praying to Mother Teresa. Monica said her cancer cured instantly without any treatment from doctor.

"I took doctors' medicines, threw up and was in a lot of pain. But when I prayed to Mother Teresa from my heart, Mother Teresa blessed me and now I am healthy," she told CNN. "My entire village and I am very happy that she is being made a saint."

However, critics argue version of events. They say that modern medicine and not a miracle cure.

Even some doctors claim tumor cyst caused by tuberculosis, not a cancerous tumor."Our organization does not believe in any kind of miracle," said Prabir Ghosh, General Secretary of the Association of Science and Rationalists of India to CNN.

According to Ghosh, the husband of Monica Besra told him in 2003. Ghosh said Besra husband had the video saying his wife cured with medication, not by Mother Teresa.

In an interview with TIME magazine in 2002, Besra's husband also challenged the claim of the Vatican. he told TIME that time. "My wife was cured by a doctor and not by a miracle."

However, Besra denied this statement. To CNN, she insisted on her recovery as a miracle of Mother Teresa. She never commented on TIME.
