Turkey expressed a desire to develop good relations with Syria. This is seen as a policy change towards neighboring countries that are at war. Prime Minister of Turkey, Binali Yildirim, confirms that a good relations with Syria needed to fight terrorism and for the sake of regional stability.
Turkish-Syrian diplomatic relations broken since the Syrian conflict that began in 2011. For such a long time, Turkey has said that the only way out to bring peace to the region is the resignation of the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad.
Turkey has recently tried to solved the issue of relations with Russia and Israel. Yildirim said through on live television converence,"It is the greatest purpose and can not be changed that we develop good relations with Syria and Iraq, as well as all the neighbors around the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. We have improve our relations with Russia and Israel. I am sure we will also improve our relations with Syria. In order to successfully fight against terrorism, and stability returned to Syria and Iraq."
In a separate development, the French diplomatic mission in Turkey cancel the celebration of Bastille Day on July 14 due to security reasons according to General Consulate in Istanbul.
