Turkey Attack ISIL, Residents Evacuated

Turkish police officers warned people who live in the District Karkamis, Gaziantep Province, Turkish-Syrian border, to evacuate from the area. It was for the safety of their lives. Alert from police officers arrived after the area hit by a series of mortar attacks fired by the Turkish military to drive out ISIL from the border.

As reported by the HurriyetDailyNews, Wednesday (24/8), mortar shells hit the garden of a building in the district town Karkamis. Minibus sent to the local governor's office to pick up local residents who do not have a vehicle. Civil servants in the local area will be granted administrative leave for two days because of the attacks. Armed units at Turkey border continue to launch attacks on Turkish-Syrian border to destroy the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which now controls the Jarabulus territory.

The operation to seize Jarabulus from ISIL may take two weeks.
